Dental Implants

An implant is a titanium screw that is used for replacing the root of a tooth when it fails. Just like a tooth root, it is placed into the jaw bone and is used for supporting one or more false teeth.

Are implants safe and how long they will last?

Yes, Implants are a safe, it is one of the well-established treatment. It's probably true to say that implants, much like natural teeth, will last for as long as you care for them.

You can expect implants to last for many years if good oral hygiene is maintained. Also it depends on the type of bone and the technique if they are placed properly.

How long does the implant treatment take?

We will be able to give you a rough outline of time frame before the treatment starts. Some false teeth can now even be fitted at the same time as the implants (these are called ‘immediate loading implants'. Usually the false teeth are fitted 3 to 4 months after the implants are put in. Sometimes treatment takes longer and we will be able to talk to you about your treatment time.

Can we always use implants to replace missing teeth?

No. It depends on the condition of the bone in your jaw. We will have to carry out some special tests to find out the amount of bone still there. If there is not enough, or if it isn't healthy enough, it may not be possible to place implants.

What is the cost of implant treatment?

The average treatment cost for the single can be anywhere between 15K to 60K. The cost of implant varies patient to patient based on the clinical conditions such as bone, type of implant, crowns, implant system etc.
